🦊 Golden & Soda Pop

Morning, London! Happy Thursday. My house, my car, my Spotify account… all now belong to K-Pop Demon Hunters. There is no escape. I know the lyrics to Golden and Sodapop by heart and have strong opinions about choreography choices I didn’t ask for. Over ten thousand families get the Scoop every week. Someone out there must also be trapped in this glittery musical vortex. Let me know if it's you. I need the solidarity.
You know when you come back from a trip and your plants have gone full jungle? Same thing seems to have happened to my kids’ feet. Three shoe sizes. In six weeks. What is this sorcery.
Coldplay’s first few gigs have somehow avoided scandal. Disappointing, really.
Lastly, Hurricane Erin seems to be making her way to London. Because of course she is. Stay dry.
Final week of the summer holidays. Let’s dive in.

. LONDON SNIPPETS .
Bits that caught our eye

🎤 KPop Demon Hunters Slays Netflix. It’s official. KPop Demon Hunters is now Netflix’s most watched film ever, with over 236 million views, and at least 40 of those are from my living room. It’s also been the unofficial soundtrack of my car for three weeks. Apologies to anyone stuck next to me in London traffic. Full story
🛍️ From BHS to TED Talks? Oxford Street’s old BHS building might be getting a glow up. Plans are in to turn it into a shiny new retail and cultural hub, complete with shops, offices and an auditorium for things like TED talks and fashion shows. The project would not start until 2029, so do not get too excited just yet. Still, better than another American candy shop. Full story
🎆 Blackheath Fireworks Are (Almost) Back. After years of silence, Blackheath’s legendary fireworks are gearing up for a comeback on 1 November. A proposal has gone in to host just shy of 30,000 people with a promised night of pyrotechnics, entertainment and market stalls. Fingers crossed the council approves and we get to defrost our toes while staring at the sky once again. Full story

Think you know your London?

Where in London would you find this secret tropical jungle tucked inside brutalist concrete towers? |

. CASUAL EINSTEIN .
2 for 1: Wow your kid, and outsmart the other parents
Fun Fact: The longest case of hiccups lasted 68 years. 😳 A man named Charles Osborne started hiccuping in 1922 and didn’t stop until 1990. That’s more than 430 million hiccups. He still got married twice, had kids, and lived to 97. Absolute icon of inconvenient persistence.
London Fact: London’s oldest tree might be older than London itself. 🌳 The Totteridge Yew, in the churchyard of St Andrew’s, is estimated to be up to 2,000 years old. It’s been standing there since before the Romans arrived. No plaque, no drama, just timeless yew energy.
