🦊 Mind the Break, London!

Morning, London! Happy Thursday! Half term is upon us once again. Personally, I think a break every six weeks is brilliant for the kids (I’m certain we didn’t get them that often growing up), but let’s be honest, it’s a logistical Rubik’s Cube for working parents. Luckily, we’re here, as always, to help you make the most of it with a fresh line-up of family-friendly London fun.
The sunshine should help too. I love how newspapers go full heatwave hysteria with headlines like “London to be hotter than Crete and the Algarve!” 🤣, usually for about 11 minutes. Still, we’ll take it. A win is a win.
In case you missed it last week, London is turning pink fast, and we shared a handy link to some of the city’s best cherry blossom spots. Highly recommend a stroll before everything gets trampled by buggies and scooters. Also, if you’ve got a little pixel-obsessed human in your life, heads up: the new Minecraft experience opens this Friday in London.
London does Easter very well, and most places start early to help us throughout Half Term, so I’ve got a headstart below with a Special Easter edition, followed by you all favorites London Event Scoop.
Let’s see what else we’ve got for you today:
🎙️ London Snippets: Bits that caught our eye
🧠 Casual Einstein: Two new playground-worthy facts
❓ Trivia: Know your London?
🐣 Special Edition: Easter adventures
📅 Readers’ Favourite: Family events this week
But first, the weather. Go London go!

Bits that caught our eye
🌳 West London Goes Wild(ish). A local park is about to get a serious leafy makeover with 5,500 trees being planted, turning it into a mini urban forest. So yes, you might soon be able to say “we're off to the woods” without leaving the M25. Full story
🚄 The Train Drama You Didn’t Know You Needed. Virgin says it's got the green signal to run trains through the Channel Tunnel, now that regulators might pry open some space at Eurostar’s secret lair (aka their depot). The cross-Channel rail monopoly? Hanging by a très thin thread.. Full story
🌡️ 21°C in April and London’s Already a Tinderbox. The Fire Brigade’s sounding the alarm: dry grass + disposable BBQs = bad combo. So if you’re planning a sun-soaked sausage sizzle in the park—maybe don’t?. Full story

.CASUAL EINSTEIN .
2 for 1: Wow your kid and outsmart the other parents
Here are two cool facts to help you sound like the smartest parent on the playground—or to fill those awkward silences with the other parents.
Fun Fact: Butterflies can taste with their feet. Their feet have special sensors that let them taste whatever they land on—which is helpful when your job is basically licking leaves for a living. 🦋👣
London Fact: There’s a fake townhouse in Bayswater. At 23-24 Leinster Gardens, you’ll find a perfectly normal-looking row of townhouses… except two of them are completely fake. No rooms, no real windows — just a façade built in the 1860s to hide a gap in the railway behind. Basically, the architectural equivalent of a cardboard cut-out. 🏠🎭

. TRIVIA .
Think you know your London?

Where can you find this London tunnel?Hint: You’re technically under the Thames |
📊Last week’s trivia. The colourful London corner was indeed Neals Yard, tucked away in Covent Garden. 70% of you got it right, which means there are still a few thousand of you that go it confused with Camden, Seven Dials or Carnaby, go check it out 🙂
