Morning, London! Happy Thursday. Easter is basically here. A few more school runs and then it’s game on.

Clocks go forward this Sunday. One less hour of sleep, just as things get busier. Strong planning. Also… why is it still this cold? Late March, longer days, all the signs are there. Just missing the actual warmth. If anyone can organise one of those random warm winds, now would be ideal.

Plenty going on across London to keep everyone busy over the break.

Let’s dive in.

..LONDON SNIPPETS..

Bits that caught our eye

🎸 Camden’s Getting a Museum of Teen Chaos. A brand new Museum of Youth Culture is opening in Camden on 15 May, packed with everything from rocker jackets to rave badges and school leavers’ hoodies. Basically, all the stuff your parents begged you to throw away. Full story

🐱 A lynx playing with its lunch just won the Natural History Museum's wildlife photo public vote. Over 85,000 people chose Austrian photographer Josef Stefan's shot of an Iberian lynx cheerfully tossing a rodent into the air in Spain. The lynx spent 20 minutes playing with it before getting bored and eating it. You can see the winning image at the Natural History Museum in South Kensington until July. Full story

🐿️ A squirrel in Brixton was filmed vaping. A grey squirrel was caught on camera in a south London park holding a disposable e-cigarette between its paws and chewing on it. Experts say squirrels are drawn to the fruity flavours. The RSPCA is not amused. Full story

..LONDON ARCHIVE..

Always moving, always London.

In 1746, a cartographer called John Rocque published the most detailed map of London ever made. Every street, every alley, the Thames rammed with sailing ships. Hyde Park was the edge of the city. 551 people lived on London Bridge. All drawn by hand. It's just been republished, 280 years later. Have a look, it's a bit mind-bending. More info

..BRAIN BITES..

Wow your kid, and outsmart the other parents

London Fact: London once had a cattle market bigger than most towns. 🐮
The Metropolitan Cattle Market in Islington could hold 7,000 cattle and 40,000 sheep at once. It opened in 1855 and ran for over a century. Today, it’s a housing estate.

Fun Fact: Dolphins have names for each other. 🐬Each dolphin develops a unique whistle that acts like a name, and others use it to call them over. Scientists call them signature whistles. Dolphins almost certainly call them something else.

..EVENTS SCOOP..

What’s on this week?

Yes, I’ve seen your messages about grouping events by location, age, etc. I’ll reply properly one by one 🙂 We are building a web version of the list where you’ll be able to filter however you like.
